We routinely work with an environmental consulting firm to rate our compliance initiatives and suggest environmental improvements.

Curtis has committed to purchasing a total of 4,524,800 kWh of renewable energy per year—enough to cover 100% of its energy usage—for the next three years.  The majority of Curtis’ renewable energy mix is wind power, and approximately 30% of the purchase includes locally generated wind and hydro. A leader in the industry, Curtis is proud to do its part to protect the environment and knows that its customers will value the commitment it has made to a safe and secure energy future.

For example: we were recently challenged by a major cosmetics company whose brand has veered away from its environmentally sensitive roots. Our challenge was to produce a carton using an environmentally-friendly recycled board. We discovered a Paper Mill that not only produced a board that was 100% recycled, but had a 75% Post Consumer content made from wind power! This substrate is the first of its kind in the United States and we have a superb relationship with the mill to make it available for your next project.

And we are extremely proud to admit that we have recently been certified as an FSC environmentally responsible packaging source, a claim which few North American packaging companies can claim. Click here to read more
